KANPUR (TOI): Even after being recognised as one of the most reliable methods of treatment of various deadly diseases across the world, homoeopathy is getting step-motherly treatment by the government. Homoeopaths claim as a practising system of medicine, homoeopathy is not getting its due in the city as well as in the state though it can be best alternative to allopthy.
As per the experts of the Central Homeopathic Council of India (CHCI), there are more than 20,000 practising homeopaths in the state, but their presence in government-run hospitals is not even one per cent. At a time when most government-run primary health centres and community health centres are performing below standard due to a lack of skilled medical professionals, the services of these doctors are not being put to use due to lack of political will. “This is happening despite the fact that a bachelor’s degree in homoeopathy (BHMS) is equivalent to an MBBS degree,” said Dr Ravindra Koachar, a member of the CHCI.
